History
From its humble beginnings as a charcoal selling company, Electrical Paradise Pte Ltd has become one of the largest wholesalers of air-conditioners in Singapore. Over the years, Electrical Paradise has evolved into the current structure of focusing on three key businesses in Offshore, Wholesale and Project.
The Founding of Hong Huat
1952 – Founded by Tay Low Hong, charcoal trading company
Mr. Tay Low Hong founded Chop Hong Huat and from its humble background of selling charcoal to their neighbours and friends.
The Early Years
1968 – Switch from charcoal industry to gas and electrical industry
Due to a decline in the charcoal industry, Mr. Tay Low Hong decided to give up on the charcoal business and focus his efforts in the gas and electrical industry.
A New Beginning
1979 – Chop Hong Huat was renamed Hong Huat Electrical Pte Ltd and main core business was on its wholesale of air-conditioners to contractors
1994 – Electrical Paradise Pte Ltd set up by Tay Hang Cho
– Spearhead overseas business
– Strategic alliance with Panasonic Japan to expand Panasonic air-conditioners to third world countries, namely Vietnam, Cambodia, etc.
Mr. Tay Hang Cho, son of Tay Low Hong, set up a company called Electrical Paradise. Electrical Paradise main core business was its overseas alliance with Panasonic Japan and together, Panasonic Japan and Electrical Paradise developed the market of Vietnam and Cambodia.
Hong Huat Electrical was acquired and was part of Electrical Paradise.
A New Location
2004 – Moved to 1 Eunos Ave 8a, land area of around 30,000sq ft
Due to the growth of the business, Electrical Paradise moved to a land area boosting of around 30,000sq ft and on it a three-storey high building.
2007 – Mr. Tay Hang Cho purchased a controlling interest in D.I.s air-conditioning and Electrical Pte Ltd
2012 – Renovation of showroom and façade of the building
2013
June – Sold off D.I.S shares to minority shareholder
